Hello

My name is Madalyne Bird and I am journalist and designer living in Minneapolis, MN. 

I am a proud alumna of the Missouri School of Journalism. I graduated with my Bachelor of Journalism emphasizing in multiplatform design in the summer of 2015. I received my Master's of Arts in journalism in May 2017. 

I have worked for several publications across the country. These include: The Washington Post, The Columbia Missourian (Columbia, Mo.), Vox Magazine (Columbia, Mo.), The Ellsworth American (Ellsworth, Me.), The Tennessean (Nashville, Tn.), The Clarion-Ledger (Jackson, Ms.), The Hattiesburg American (Hattiesburg, Ms.) and The News Leader (Staunton, Va.). 

At these publications I have served in a variety of roles including reporter, community outreach (audience engagement), news designer, features designer, information graphics producer and editor, art director and creative director. 

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, I enjoy reading, copious amounts of coffee  and puns having to do with my last name.

I am currently designing for The Star Tribune in Minneapolis, MN.
